Scanning of process barcodes during the processing of jobs provides visibility into where jobs are at in their respective manufacturing processes, how long processing is taking and if the time exceeds that quoted for the process.
To begin, ensure that you have both an Employee Barcode and Jobcard with Process Barcodes.
Note that there are two workflows for scanning depending on your requirements.
The default method is to scan onto a process, perform the work, and then scan off the process thereby capturing the elapsed time spent. This is our recommended method and ensures the most concise data is recorded for later reporting.
If instead you just want to capture when a process is complete and not capture the elapsed time then you can specify an individual process as Single Scan. Each time that process is scanned, instead of recording the start time and leaving the timing recorded open awaiting the end time scan, the record is created and closed immediately and the sub-job is indexed to the next process automatically.
Please see this article for information on designating processes as Single Scan.
Job Process Scanning is performed as follows:
To Begin Timing:
1. Scan your personal barcode
2. Scan the Process barcode on the jobcard
A. Scan the jobcard
B. Status showing you are not currently timing on anything else
C. Clock-On/Clock-Off Status - see this article for more information on Clock-On/Off scanning.
To End Timing:
1. Scan your personal barcode
2. To Log Off a process. Either [A] scan the Process Barcode from the Jobcard again or [B] click the LogOff button for the selected process.
3. !IMPORTANT! - In either case you will be prompted if the Process is complete or not.
If there is nothing left to do for this process then click Complete, this will index the job forward to the next process. Otherwise, click More to Do, this will leave the job at the current process ready for further processing.
